My son, the last of the pack, THE MIGHTY mouse of the house.
At 7 he poses in front of my mirror showing me muscles calloused hands and his tiny beautiful soul.
Although the flu has ravaged him with fever, frustration and fear...of not being able to GO, DO and PLAY... HE shines through.
My son, the one I nearly lost, and nearly lost myself to bring.
My beautiful child does the sweetest thing.
He said"Mommy, I love YOU, and I know you're sick too.
He is rambunctious, and BOY, and perfectly himself.
Today he was well enough to go outside and swing... then he did the most amazing thing...
there were small glass pebbles in the dirt, left over from some sort of craft, they shone through the muck and he quickly asked me if I liked pretty rocks and marbles.
I sat there in the shade, head down in a cellular daze, so tired of being up all night.
My Son, dug up a pile of these jems, and then, he laid them at my feet with the sweetest smile... hey Mommy now can you come push me on the swing for a while.
Greatest Gift Ever.
